Confused about availability.

Bump.

It seems OVH are too busy creating subsidiaries in countries which would benefit from international ordering anyway.

Any update on this, Oles?

I'll put money on it taking them longer than 2-3 weeks.

lol

Oles explained it earlier in this thread. International orders will be accepted in 2-3 weeks from now. Customers will have to reply to a letter in order to set their account up. There is a limit of 2 servers (per month, I'm assuming).

You should avoid living in countries where 95% of the population are ****s.

Would this new system allow for customers from the USA? I hate to be not eligible due to nasty scammers.

lol

That sucks.

Would the customer need a letter from the bank or would the customer write their own letter?

And like quantumflux asked, what about using Paypal? I've seen a few dedi hosts that use Paypal.

24 hours.

visa and mastercard have lot of power. power to stop your payement system
and crash your firm because the customers can't pay you anymore. it's a
big risk. this risk I can take with SE, MA, TR, ... if I can manage it.
we had lot of customers from TR 3 years ago. all canceled the payement
2 months after with the bank saying "the service wasn't delivered". we
sent all proofs with the bandwidth used, the password sent. noway. 120
servers, 2 months, 15000E lost. once. not twice. That is why I prefer
to work with the customers of the country that we have a firm. all relations
are with a local contract and you can't do what you want. when you work
with a customer from TR or MA, there is no legal rules. I have to imagine
the rules to sell the services. it's crazy, but it's the only way to
developp the business with light risk. I agree with you. But the reality
are different.

What about using paypal?

>1. you need to fix the adress:
>you create a new login, we send you a letter with a code

How are you sending the letter? It will take a while for it to be sent internationally.

>3. you need to send us a letter that the service works
>and you won't ask your bank to cancel the payement.

Can we not just e-mail you instead? It seems it will take a long time to set up an account if there are all these letters that need to be sent back and forth. Also, doesn't one cancel a server by not paying?

>then I will be able to sell you a dedicated server
>with no risk of payement. with a limit of 2 servers.

A limit of 2 servers for good? Or 2 servers per month?

>we lost too much money in the pass with the customer
>coming from TR, MA, SE, RU, BR, CN, ... with this systeme
>I hope the risk is very low.

I understand, but it's a shame that legit customers have to bear the burden. Taking care of fraud is the bank's job. I shouldn't have to be treated like a criminal because some retard gave his credit card number to a phisher.

2-3 weeks.

> What would the plan be?

1. you need to fix the adress:
you create a new login, we send you a letter with a code
you get it and you write it

2. you need to valide your credit cart (like paypal):
we get a value between 0.7Euro and 1.5Euro
you read the right value in your bank and you
give the right valeu.

3. you need to send us a letter that the service works
and you won't ask your bank to cancel the payement.

then I will be able to sell you a dedicated server
with no risk of payement. with a limit of 2 servers.

we lost too much money in the pass with the customer
coming from TR, MA, SE, RU, BR, CN, ... with this systeme
I hope the risk is very low.

we are working on this project. we had a very bad experiance in the
past with some customers from some countries. but we have a plan
how to sell the server without any payement problem.
Could you please give us a date when we will be able to order? I want an OVH server!!!

What would the plan be?

Octave, I have asked this 2-3 times already. This is a direct question with a simple answer: Will people from other EU countries be able to order servers from OVH starting 1st Sept?

I'm guessing the answer is no, the website is still in French.

Will people from other EU countries be able to order servers from OVH starting 1st Sept?

Well, it seems that all Kimsufi orders are now going through kimsufi.com

Is this what they were talking about? Can anyone order from kimsufi.com?

Andy.

Don't worry.
I live in the UK and I can't even get a server.

OVH won't even accept my card payment and are insisting I send a copy of my driving license or passport AND proof of address BEFORE they will accept my payment. (nic mm37648-ovh)

This isn't mentioned as a prerequisite anywhere on this forum or on the OVH website when signing up.

When I tell OVH I don't have a passport or driving license they tell me they can't process my order!

I understand you guys are trying to avoid fraud but this new process is losing youy legitimate customers also.

I have wanted to purchase a server from OVH for a while, but cannot since I am in the US. I just recently saw this thread in the forums: http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showthread.php?t=601

I just wanted to confirm that this does in fact state that in September, OVH will accept orders from everywhere. I will have no problem completing all 3 steps in the verification process. Also, how early in September would this change take affect?

Thanks.
