I've asked for an update in this thread regarding something OVH planned to introduce mid August (working to OVH time of course) which I'm sure will interest some of you in this thread.

Before December 2012

Dear Customer,

As announced a month ago on mailing lists and on our forum ( http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6276 ), we have decided to change the invoicing of IPv4 and RIPE IP Blocks, following the low number of IPv4 addresses still available.

>From 6th December 2012, additional IPv4 addresses will be charged at the rate of GBP 0.90 excl.VAT per month.

They did, I have a C-05G and a Q-1T, but you now have to pay for the extra IP's 0.42+vat PCM.

Everyone hates the professional option fee, I think there should be a different way of doing it but hey, OVH won't change. No there is no setup fee for RIPE blocks, just the option + 0.43 per month (excluding VAT).

i Absolutely hate the professional use fee,
do we have to pay it on every server we have? can't it just be a 1 time fee?
also when buying a ripe ip pack would there be any installation fees etc?

When were they free? Looking at my old emails my first OVH server was in 2009 when I moved away from a colo at a DC here in Manchester.

The virtual MAC can still be used on all failovers.

Sorry, I must be too young around here to have noticed that! Free IPs anywhere are rare these days.

I remember using virtual mac on the kimis a while ago, do you still use that for the professional servers?

Nope, there never has been free failovers - but don't worry, OVH are famously good at communication.

Howdy,
i thought you got 3 FREE IP Failovers then can buy them.

o well guess i was wrong :S / unless that was the case until the new way the IP's are done.

Excluding, almost anything OVH is excluding VAT. Remember you can only have 3 per server unless you want a RIPE block, then you have to pay 15 a month professional option on top of the IPs.

Hi

OVH Servers (Not Kimsufi) can have 3 IP FailOvers, each one costs 0.42 excluding VAT.

Are the IP Failovers 0.42 each and does that include vat or exc?
