Used to watch the original too, with spray-painted horses and all! The new one really did the original good justice, in my opinion - I was immediately hooked and you can recognize much of the stuff from the original series.. But with better CG The only thing is that it could have been longer than it was, but hey...

There are a few good new US series that are worth watching in my opinion.

Orange is the new Black.
Ray Donovan - this is an amazing series.
Under The Dome

and of course the mighty Breaking Bad which is ending in 5 weeks, so might be worth waiting till after then and picking up the boxset.

Netflix is pretty good for these things, just watched all of Doc Martin (I know!) and I am just getting into 24, would recommend!

I'll have to have a look at this dome thing, the great thing about TV series is they can really long term portray the characters, like a book, unlike a film.

Haven't seen this, but two things come to mind... The Simpsons, and "How long before someone digs a tunnel underneath it?" - then again, I had some serious misgivings about Lost as well in the first couple episodes, and it turned out to be rather good!

I have been watching a really cool TV show called "Under the Dome", Sci-Fi action about a town being trapped under the dome. Here in the UK its on Channel 5 on Monday evenings (Episode 2 so far) but America has had it for a few months now so if you wish to watch about 11 episodes, you can.
