you send me to oles@ovh.net the name of your server and I check.
I do it when you get < 101Mbps (all your serveurs).

right now, we have only 1-2 new servers per week making more that
101Mbps. but they make 600Mbps/server. it's okey. I check all the
server once per week. maybe twice. if it stays in this way it works
for me.
ok got you.
il wait until the rps runs out and the kimi then i might email you to see

I have never heard of anyone going back into SLA mode before... Have you ever done this Oles? It would be nice to know.

And does the factor of having a 100mbit server and a rps server on my account also controbute to this.

Yeah, this sounds like a good idea, and would be ideal for some of the dedicated servers you house in your datacenters. Some people, not a great deal though, just want affordable dedicated servers.

Apart from moaning now and again, I would say the vast majority of people are more than happy with the service you provide.

Well Done OVH!! *claps*
Well I am happy at least, with my server and bandwidth. I did have issues passing 100Mbps but never found out why. Still, 70Mbps is a lot for the price we pay, so I shouldn't complain, but when you're guaranteed an SLA, you should have every right to argue to get it.

As I've already told, we are going step by step. 2-3 years ago
we've started 100Mbps illimited SLA per customer, 6 months ago
noSLA burst 1Gbps per server, now we are working on SLA Premium
1Gbps (2Gbps burst) per customer. we need the time, the feedbacks
talk about all this. why ? because your needs change. everyday
something change. and if we don't talk together about what new,
what changed, we will work on something that you wanted, but
you don't want anymore, because it's "hasbeed" option. that is
whu I love to talk, send the emails with the ideas, read your
feedbacks and thing thing all day and night, how the hell can
I propose it.

To be honest if you have a dedicated server, its really up to you to limit the bandwidth, just as its up to you set quotas for disk space etc.

You can simply set the 1Gbps NIC to 100Mbps if you are worried about going over 101Mbps.

Not ideal, but a solution for the moment or use a third party application.

the problem is what "you say it's not true". The noSLA is NOT general
for all 1Gbps servers. I have too much work per day to post "no, it's
not true. it doesn't work in this way. you didn't understand. you didn't
read". Lot of information are wrong. And I spend 2 hours per day to
say "no it's not true".

IF and ONLY IF, I (me oles@ovh.net) sent an email saying "it works in
this way", you can tell to others persons "it works in this way". IF
I didn't send any email about, you will tell "no true information".

About noSLA (again AND again):
noSLA, it's "NO SLA". No Service Level Agreement. It means that
there is NO definition. It's best-effort. We do what we can. That
is all. You try to ask me (again and aging) "what is the SLA when
it's noSLA ?". You want to know "what kind of garantees do you have when
you have no garantees". All garantee you can have is "I (oles@ovh.net)
make my best-effort to give you my best routing for the price you pay".
That is all about noSLA. And you can't ask me more. You can tell that
it's a scandal, it's no normal, it's "what you want", but it's noSLA
because there is NO Service Level Agreement.

Anyway, AND because I like to give the technicals information I can
tell you more about noSLA. But it's nothing more. It's not the
contract, it's not SLA, it's nothing more that noSLA. You can get
this information as it came. That all about noSLA from me. Because
noSLA was done for the people that what "lot of bandwidth and don't
want to pay more". We propose lot of bandwidth with noSLA and it
doesn't cost us more. That is why we can propose it with no extra
cost. We can propose 1Gbps of bandwidth with noSLA with no extra
bill. How ? There is no shape on peerings 24 hours/day. There is
no share on transit 12 hours/day. So 90% of customers are happy
because they have lot of bandwidth (1Gbps) and no cost. Of course
they can't send 1Gbps to a transit at 5pm. But they can do it on
a peering 24 hours per day and they can do it during the night.

If you want 1Gbps at 5pm, it's SLA. We work on SLA Premium which
has to start this week. 1Gbps garantee and 2Gbps burst per customer.
149Euro/100Mbps with 50% for transit and 50% for peering. etc etc.
All information will be on an URL.
Thank you for this information Oles, its clearer now!

Yeah, I agree with Andy. And I also have a question:
Since OVH sells servers that can easily bypass the 101 Mbit limit, why don't you put a new option into the manager to limit the bandwidth used by a server on the network? Sure, it would avoid some mistakes. Or you could introduce some tools that will help newbies to handle traffic shaping.

After all, traffic shaping can be used for so many things, not only to avoid to bypass the 101 Mbit limit. Any opinion on that Oles?

where did you read it ? Someone from Ovh did announce it ?
It was a guess since nobody knows how you're making noSLA work anymore. Its stupid. We need a better definition.

it would be nice to know, I would still consider having one with Oles's new idea for bulk storage. NoSLA is still a good deal overall I think.

The server you go over 100Mbps will be put into noSLA. The others should be unaffected, I think...
