why OVH network is failure

alex, I am just lurking here as I have cancelled everything OVH long ago and I just hope they do better at some point. However, you seem to complain a lot and put a lot of energy in trying to convince people that OVH is rubbish ..

Why are you customer again / still ?

you forgetting something, as it's not only me having the issues... what they offer it seems to me in my case don't work and continuously reply:
Please reply to the ticket or send an email to antiddoss@ovh.net if you have any issues with the DDOS Protection.
WTF? why I should re-email to different team, if the antiddoss team can't be bothered to reply anyway?

If you dislike OVH and it's services so much why on earth are you still using them?
I do like them, I simply don't like their uncompleted projects or half job engineers.

Alex,

If you dislike OVH and it's services so much why on earth are you still using them?

Surely if they are providing such a bad service that you need to exclaim loudly about it, you must think it is time for you to find another provider that can meet your requirements?

once again proof that the OVH network or DDOS protection is sucks, I have terminated myself the DDOS better than f*cking your DDOS protection, see example of DDOS:

for people who don't know how terminate:
1) go to new control panel
2) check the stats per IP address
3) find most active one (more packets)
4) go to add firewall rules
6) create rule and refuse all connections as OVH network is sucks to filter attack!

the Anti-DDoS system works very well so far with most of our customers. The fact is that we've only had a few cases of customers with problems.

but we're not saying that in some cases and some applications, there might be a problem, but precisely because of that, we need you to provide logs and information required (like the server name to start with), which you still haven't done (you've provided lots of opinions and thoughts, but not much to support it) .

So, we cannot do much from where we are to help you.

alex

Something new what I was not aware off:
- Anti-DDOS protection don't filter internal OVH traffic
- Anti-DDOS protection block the SIP/VOIP (if you are using the server to host your own asterisk server) and some genuine traffic

I found the issue without any ANti-DDOS crap, simply went through every IP address stats and null the connection from most active IP. Every customer of OVH are ripped off for service which is not available or delivered as 70mbps DDOS can take your server down and the following web page:
http://www.ovh.co.uk/anti-ddos/
is full of crap.

Today downtime for Anti-DDOS crap solution:

From support I had only the following message:

You should send an email to antiddos@antiddos.zendesk.com with your server address and these logs, but if you look at your MRTG your server is being attacked with a 70Mbps DDOS attack so someone is targeting one of your IPs.
Also please to send an email to antiddos@antiddos.zendesk.com so they can check the reason why it is not working effectively.

as I have discovered today as a customers we been riped off by paying extra for Anti-DDOS protection as it don't work, today (and still curry on) I had a DDOS attack size 70mbps on one IP address and retarded Anti-DDOS system is not capable to VAC the DDOS as it doesn't work and server is offline!!!

No problem, it's simply piss me off when huge companies can't be bothered to complete the projects and move on every time to new one, just as a reminder:

OVH control panels x 3 (all of them in Beta, Alpha or Gamma stage )
Anti-DDOS protection x 1 (at this moment 2 types in Beta, Alpha or Gamma stage noone know?!?)
Tech Support in UK after 18:00 x None

facts - if the OVH look up the ticket was opened and they pointed back to forum.
logs - I have provided with network failure log, as uptime status report per server.
diagnostic info - nothing been change on server therefore nothing is diagnose as the server working without issues, except the network 3-4 time down due to Anti-DDOS service
troubleshooting - nothing been change on server therefore nothing troubleshoot

The pingdom do have logs, the same as the OVH, as I have opened in past the asking about network issues.

The statistic don't show anything as I mentioned:

The Anti-DDOS protection is undeveloped and OVH is charging for what they can't deliver and Anti-DDOS protection provide opposite effect.

How much would you like OVH to pay you per IP? what's a fair price?
per time wasted and the time they not spend to troubleshoot and test their Anti-DDOS crap. I can take £300k, no problem cut the Oles bonus for one month!

you'll have to explain it a bit better and support your claims with logs. I don't know how is your server down exactly.

could you still provide the information required? Mtr and server name?

Thanks

therefore their ISP not connected via Roubaix or Gravelines and downtimes are monitored not only from France but from other locations.

I think the issue in Anti-DDOS protection as it's not ready as still in beta or alpha stage of development and continuously fail according to statuses:
http://status.ovh.co.uk/?order=id&pr...prog&sort2=asc

and of course some genuine f*ckups:
http://status.ovh.co.uk/?do=details&id=5562
We had a problem in the rules that define the network firewall.
All traffic has been filtered by mistake.
We removed the rules until they find the origin of the problem.

During this incident, robots could not connect to the infrastructure and therefore could not add/remove the attacked IPs.
An important to an IP to BGP could not be mitigated, though we detected the attack.
We have implemented mitigation manually.

Turn off the monitoring system and they won't touch your server unless you put a ticket in asking for it.

Pingdom shows the uptime of my server as 100% unless it really isn't so I suspect either your server is misconfigured or indeed has issues with the rack switch or DDoS interrupting.

tested from various location according to pingdom.com

today issues:
one server
11/11/2013 16:12:50 11/11/2013 16:14:50 2m
11/11/2013 16:20:03 11/11/2013 16:20:50 1m
11/11/2013 16:21:50 11/11/2013 16:22:50 1m
second server:
11/11/2013 16:12:50 11/11/2013 16:14:50 2m
11/11/2013 16:20:03 11/11/2013 16:20:50 1m

Could be a dodgy switch on your rack, or your network card, or your ISP, or you home network card/router, try and rule some of these out first.
all IPs on 24/7 Anti-DDOS and firewall protection, as a few game vpses on server but not on other.

On the most busies server stats are:
Current
Entry : 16.5 Mb/s
Exit : 65.7 Mb/s

Average
Entry : 10.2 Mb/s
Exit : 33.5 Mb/s

Maximum
Entry : 52.8 Mb/s
Exit : 79.8 Mb/s
it seems to me normal for busy server, their system detected the issue with network only on the most busiest server and normally non-tech OVH member pretend that he is tech will push the restart button and will qualify himself for IT technician instead of run quickly do checks, as it's done everywhere in normal hosting companies!!! and after that the OVH want to serve enterprise users? than you are jokers!

As far as the network goes, I've had very good results in terms of uptime with OVH...

How are you measuring those downtimes? My server has 100% uptime just fine.
