Heads up :

Do not upgrade your CentOS 6 system with the newest kernel 2.6.32-431.1.2.el6. This would make your system unbootable.

This affects people with dedicated servers or KVM VPSes. People with OpenVZ VPSes should not worry, since they are using the hosnode's kernel.

There is already an entry about this in the CentOS's bugtracker http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=6831

Hello,

Red Hat recently announced the release of the latest version of RedHat Enterprise Linux: RHEL 6.5.

We updated it with our RHEL 6 images, here are the new features:
- Core 2.6.32 with support for new generation hardware (Avoton for example)
- KVM: support for spontaneous virtual processor (de)activation
- KVM: Windows Guest Agent for Window VMs help with network configuration
- OpenSSL update with TLS 1.1 + 1.2 support
- Redhat-support-tool for opening tickets/command line bugs

The full list of the changes can be found in the official announcement:
http://www.redhat.com/about/news/pre...rprise-linux-6

As Red Hat is the basis of a whole ecosystem of projects and distributions, such as CentOS, ScientificLinux, CloudLinux, OracleLinux etc, we will soon be seeing updates on them.

Please don't hesitate to leave us any feedback here.

Kind regards,

Félix
