RAID0 for speed. Also there is NO option in OVH web interface to do Debian install to RAID0 (and I I have bought server with same size disk then I should have one..Im paying for that.)
Dunno how you guys do it, but no self respective computer technician will make you RAID array with even different brand drives here in Finland. All my RAID arrays at home(0,1,5) have all drives same make and model(even same FW version(that is not nessesary tho).

And I just start to think about that mishmatch drive install from last summer ONLY after that "marks" person from OVH adivice to email about it. That was just too funny..If I told you whole story what happen last summer. No one from OVH did not knew anything about anything(exept price oc). And after I had send all HD info from broken drive from recue mode it took over week to anyone even reply to me. I had strong feeling that they did not even know what hard drive is in Roubaix datacenter..it really was that funny.
I got 3 week compensation from server price(they said that it is extremely rare) cuz it took them that long to even get that different size disk.

Now they change the drive, so there is 2 same size drives, cuz they noticed that its imposible to install Debian to RAID0 from web interface.

Its really not difficult to set up raid0 on two different size drives. Google is your friend.
Hint: Use partitions.
I never said it was imposible, but you cant make it from OVH web config, nor anyone from OVH cant assist you even they sell those servers RAID0/1 . Its like bying a new car and after that you need to start searching engine for it.
Only way to use different size disk in RAID0 was to start install in RAID1 mode then make new partitions, but you cant move OS from RAID1 partition to new RAID0 one. So you dont get what you bought. With same size drives even OS is in RAID0 partition.
And IMO. if OVH sells these server RAID0/1 but one can do only RAID1 install(an there is no one to have even link to any quide) = ITS NOT RIGHT nor legal. If I have bought server with "straight RAID0 support from OVH" they need to sell what they advertise.

But like I said at least here (Finland) we do quality work. I have never installed different brand drives to even cheap desktop computer let alone much more expensive servers. And personally I have one spare HD (same make/model) for my RAID5 array(only array atm. with more than 2 drives. Maybe others just make sloppy work.

Finally got Debian Wheezy 64bit installed with default kernel (1,5Tb old Hd and 8months old 2Tb HD works in RAID0 cuz there was option "use same configuration as last time". )Tho the one RAID0 set got smaller after few unsucsesfull installs (smaller than 2x1,1,5Tb drives in RAID0.
Guy from OVH made ticket for me but even he said that they bropaply lower the ticket and I started to think last summer when there was like 50-100 tickets plus hours of phonecalls.
My OVH salesman could not even give any name/number/email to his or your boss(or his boss etc.. actually he said he dont know any

So last crusade with OVH started today.. I am going to call/email every possible place person..and I want answer fast(or actually I NEED HD change ASAP, either to 2x1,5Tb or 2x2Tb cuz those different size HDs present problem in RAID0 on Debian and I have bought server with same size HDs. Now I need to install Debian again plus all programs etc.. but I dont want to do that many times(say I have one in a million luck and someone change the HD then I need to do 10-15hours job all over again. So now my server is basically useless until I get some action or atleast answer. I know for sure that the 1,5Tb HD dont last longer than next summer so if I dont get new HD I have huge work ahead of me again... Hope Amazon builds datacenter closer to Finland or we get better connections to one, those VPC dedicated Instanses are cheap/fast and VERY reliable.

Also marks !!!!!! After I get answer to that ticket(witch is 99,9999% "we dont change HD" I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU ADVICE PPL TO DO TICKETS.

I just try to install Dedian Wheezy 64bit with default kernel... I get errors all the time (its not possible to make RAID0 cuz I have 1,5Tb HD and 2Tb HD..or it is somehow but I dont have a glue..neither did OVH personel last summer.. Does someone have any help

I made ticket about it.. But I can bet you anything that I donīt a)get any response b) They say we dont have 1,5Tb drives c) we change the other drive when it stop working.
I even told them that those poor Seagate desktop HDs usually broke down inside year of eachothers..so I am quite sure that the 1,5Tb drive will broke down inside 3-6months anyway.

This is last server from you anyway (I had 3 for many years)..And cuz you advise to contact support about this problem, lets see how long I keep this..... I bet your response cost OVH even my last server lol.. lets see if customer service is any better than last summer.

PS. I called to your support number today about US fallback IPs to server in Roubaix.answer was "seems that this system cant give US IPs..dunno why.." LOL

So WHO knows things in your company..never talked anyone who does nor had email from anyone who does.
I picture your datacenter staff as ppl who think "hmm.. seems like this HD fits to this connector = fixed" cuz even getting that 2Tb drive took over week back in last summer.

LMAO
I call to OVH like 20 times and asked who install diff. size HDs.(one of the original 1,5Tb broke down and your datacenter did not have any 1,5Tb drives anymore. Also I found out that you use poor Seagate HDs) I try and try and try them to put 2x 2Tb or 2x 1,5Tb but NOOOOO !!!!
I worked on that case for SO many hours back in last summer that my phonebills were like 30-40€ plus all emails(all those hours)
Also NO ONE from OVH could advice how to install 1,5Tb and 2Tb HD in RAID0, so I need4d to pay for external help.
I might "open" this HD case again, but I dont wanna work 20-30hours again for nothing..give me email where I can send my servers name. I am making fresh install anyway so two same sized HDs would be GREAT.

So thanks OVH..your service really SUCKS

Hi,
Does anyone offer INSTALLING SERVICE for OVH EG-AMD. I DO NOT want OVHs modified Debian kernel. pay normal price.
Also if that person could install few other things in place it would be great (FTP server, Deluged with multiple ports, myCloud, Windows emulator plus all little things that new install always needs )
There also one hard thing (there is one 1,5Tb HD and one 2Tb HD. !!!!VERY PROFESSIONAL OVH!!!!), and I would need them in RAID0. After we last time installed Debian after one old 1,5Tb HD broke down we had server down for two weeks(OVH paid that tho, cuz installing two diff. size HD to RAID0 in Debian is really pain in the but. Me and my friend who use the server are not(as you see) linux gurus, but we can use the server after installation(and I have made normal OVH kernel installations many times. Only that OVH kernel and diff. size HDs confuse me.
I would really much like to keep this server (its still 1Gb/500Mb to internet, decent speed 6core Opteron,16Gb mem, cheap price.)
If making some kinda .ISO after installation would be possible that would be great(so I could get to the fresh point after new installation if something goes wrong.

So if someone can make this install please contact telejeesus(a)gmail.com ASAP , I am willing to to PAY NORMAL PRICE for that service.
