For the letter, yes it's a one off.

For the special offers, you can register more than 1 domain per order as long as they have the same extensions. You can't mix .co.uk and .com for instance on the same order during special offer.

Can you give me your order numbers?

Nettus

Hey,

Just woundering, Everytime we register a domain name do we have to do the letter auth thing everytime? or is it just a one off?

can you register more then 1 at a time? because i tryed to do more then one and it was saying i needed to pay for them.

My guess would be OVH will hold the domain for that second year, rendering it useless to everyone, so if you need that domain, you really should renew it in plenty of time or you will lose it.

Give them a while, i figure they do it all manually =)

I'm waiting for my letters

Try and register as much as you can, they want you to put pressure on them, and put pressure on their system to see what they need to improve on =)

Another fantastic freebie

will deffo test this,

Perhaps remove the SMS verification, not everyone has a mobile phone, except i assume its to make sure you're a british citizen.

I think the Letter itself will suffice!

Andy

Suggest you e-mail support or phone up on Monday and ask them to resend the letter. Does your house address correspond with your card address? If not thats where the confusion might be.

The reason OVH are offering 1 year free and not 2 is so that if you choose not to renew with them you'll be unable to register that name elsewhere for a year, and it's likely someone will snap it up as soon as it expires well before you get the chance.
So think carefully, if you won't renew it and you want it, wait until you have the money and buy it flat out.

yes. it costs us "the skin of the ass". no choice. .co.uk works in
this way.

Because .co.uk domains have to be ordered for 2 years. If you don't want the second year, OVH still pay for it anyway but hold it as inactive so it can be resold, I'd guess.

How do you request the confirm letter to be sent out again?

Mine went to the wrong address, forgot to change it.

Ive just registered the same domain again and changed the address in my manager panel

Guys - did your name on the letter appear in the order lastname firstname? If not it may explain a lot about credit card validation issues

I'd agree with that except for this.

What the hell is the point in SMS validation if you're just going to send me a letter via post anyway? I mean for crying out loud wasn't the point of SMS confirmation for those to avoid being sent a letter and having a huge delay? Jesus man! I was looking forward to having them for tomorrow!

Hi There,
Ovh will reach 1'000'000 domains as "registrar". 1'000'000 !!
It should arrive before October. That is why, we are very happy
and we decided to be crazy ! Let's be crazy !! Hmm ... Let's
offer the domains for free ! If you don't know what is the domains,
if you want to test the domains, if you don't know Ovh, if you
want the domains for free, Ovh is the registrar for you

We offer the domains for free !! FOR FREE !!

Ovh proposes you to create 100 domains .co.uk (per customer) for free.
No money ! No payment ! Totally free ! All you have to do is to
make the order. Test it ! you can create 100 domains (10 domains
per order) and you have £0 to pay

We need to check the limit "100 domains per customer". That is
why your account has to checked with a code which is sent with
a letter. When you receive the letter (24/48 hours), you valid
the code then your order is accepted and we create your domains
for free. Then you can create 100 domains for free !!

If you want more that 100 domains .co.uk in September, you will need
to pay. How much ? £1/domain ! Hahahah £1 per domains !!

Next year, if you want to renew your domains, you domain will cost
£5.99/2 years. If you don't want to renew, well, don't renew. If you
want to transfer, well transfer it. You do what you want !

Easy, quick and for free !

http://www.ovh.co.uk

Let's be crazy !

Regards,
Octave
