He's be mounting it on his server, and then running games off that mount.


To answer OP's question, might be ok for minecraft (ssd cache) but any high traffic applications and you're looking at serious problems.

Oh, I presumed he was considering running it directly off the NAS. But otherwise I agree with you, you're going to have performance problems.

I was thinking of buying the hybrid NAS (sas + ssd cache) and I am wondering does this have a use besides storage?
For example can I use the NAS for game hosting and what would the drawbacks be for that, the server has a 1gbit connection and also the support couldn't help me with these questions.
