I wanted to get the Kimsufi 2XL (while its on offer), I have a little bit of experience of linux, but nothing major. So I am worried about security and that. So something that's easy to use.
well depends really, on the type of server you got. 9 times outa 10 i install centos, but the OS really depends on what the user does to it in order for it to work how they wish.
ive recently installed ubuntu desktop on 1 of my other servers. pretty decent aswell if you want a GUI with your server

Ah, could anyone like give me some pointers on how to set up Apache, DNS, Mail and FTP with a web interface. Like Webmin and cpanel. I would like to order one asap, because my current server runs out in 12 days, and I would like to get it working for a 'hot-swap'

I personally like Debian. I have tar in a cron job doing large weekly and small daily backups. There was a recent security issue making SSH keys guessable but this has now been resolved.

Hey,
I have had some experience with Linux, not a lot, but I am basically being forced to use Linux. I was wondering which is the easiest distro to use? and also relatively easy to maintain, like backups and security wise?
Any help is appreciated.
