Yeap.. looks like it's a bug in the sys panel..

since it's hardware raid, I can't change it anyway like that..
it should show 600000 MB, don't know why the thinks the disk is 300000 while it's in raid 5.. that's what confused me..

So you think I should check that box?
"Do you want to install it solely on the first disk?"

right now my df -h shows this:

I used these settings: http://i.imgur.com/Az6IX3Wl.jpg
Something not right there at all, your partitioning showed 300GB yet your df -h shows a greater capacity than what you theoretically partitioned.

some more interesting info about my disks:
http://pastebin.com/ywzX7A7d looks like they've seen some work.
Your RAID Level still shows as 1 which is why it's showing 300000MB.

Choose custom partitioning when installing the server, you can select RAID level there.

You can't choose if the disks are hot swappable, I believe you only get hot swap disks with the OVH HG servers, which cost considerably more than SYS.

I am guessing that you used the default partioning scheme. I never tried it as I prefer to setup my own partition scheme. That way if I want I can get around 550 GB of RAID 5 space on a non-root partition for the SSD-4. The 400 GB that you mentioned probably belonged to the home partition which should be good enough for most scenarios. Check the RAID level and space allocation for your root partition specified in the default partition scheme, You are probably wasting a lot of space to RAID 1.

but when I install a fresh ubuntu for example, it shows raid 1 under the settings and only displays 300gb.. total disk space... That's just 1 disk.

Select custom installation during server reinstall. And then proceed to select RAID 5 for your partition. I did that for my SSD-3 which is a s/w RAID and I the same option is also available for SSD-4 which is h/w RAID. You cannot select RAID 5 for root and boot partitions though.

Hi!

I have a SYS server with 3 SSDs. (SSD-4)
I wan't to run them in raid 5, so they would be hot-swappable, when needed.
The server also has a MegaCache raid..

Why isn't it raid 5 by default anyway.. :/

So.. can you tell me how I could set it up to run in raid 5 with MegaCache?
or.. Is there a better way to use my disks? like what?

Thank you very much =)
