For my debian servers I've used the guide here
http://help.ovh.co.uk/BridgeClient .... but maybe Alex's link will work as well.
Just to be sure, create new vMAC's.
Do I follow 4/5 or 6 since I am using 7. I do not feel confident in that guide anyway, the English is poor quality.
Furthermore, the IPs do have vMAC addresses but they are from when I used the IPs for VMs in Hyper-V. The main IP doesn't have a MAC address available anywhere does it?
have you used the following guide:
http://help.ovh.co.uk/IpAlias ?
Have you set the same Virtual MAC in OVH control panel as main IP address?
So I'm much more akin to and familiar with Windows Server, but I recently decided to make the jump to *nix with Debian 7. In part to save a bit of money, and other part is to learn a bit more of Debian which I find overall performs best in the ways I have needed it to in the past.
Now down to the point, basically what I am trying to do is add my FO IPs (ones I purchased at the time I had windows installed) to my 'new' Debian server.
I've had a bit of a 'play around' in "/etc/network/interfaces" but nothing that produces any results.
