My IPv6 is broken?

15-12-2014, 19:43
Well, I have connectivity back........ and lo and behold

15-12-2014, 13:59
#ip -6 neigh
fe80::ee30:91ff:fee0:df80 dev eth0 FAILED
2001:41d0:2:9bff:ff:ff:ff:ff dev eth0 lladdr 00:05:73:a0:00:00 router STALE|FAILED
I'm out of ideas here.

# traceroute6
traceroute to (2a00:1450:400c:c07::8a), 30 hops max, 80 byte packets
1 (2001:41d0:2:9bff:ff:ff:ff:fe) 0.556 ms * *
2 * * *
3 * * *
4 * * *
Is it me or the gateway, as I assume if it was me, I wouldn't even be able to contact the gateway?

The server has been up 528 days, 23:06 to be exact.

I guess the problem is the lack of a Scope:Link entry in ifconfig?

That said, as I can ping the gateway, I did try
route -A inet6 add default gw 2001:41d0:2:9FF:FF:FF:FF:FF dev eth0
didn't affect anything.

Now pinging gateway fails

On another server, the gateway is 2001:41d0:1:92FF:FF:FF:FF:FF, which totally condradicts the ovh guide, stating it should be 2001:41d0:1:9FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

Did you make any config changes before this issue occurred? Please ensure the IP is configured in accordance with the following URL:

Ok, so I thought I'd do an 'apt-get update'...
Hit squeeze/main i386 Packages
60% [Connecting to (2001:a78:5:0:216:35ff:fe7f:be4f)]
# ping6 -c 5
PING 56 data bytes
--- ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 19999ms
or sometimes
# ping6 -i 5
connect: Network is unreachable
# ifconfig

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:48:xx:xx:xx
inet Mask:
inet6 addr: 2001:41d0:2:9xxxc::1/64 Scope:Global

I see no Scope: Link entry.

k# ip -6 route

# ip route
default via dev eth0 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src
Any ideas?

After some hours faffing about, I can now ping my gateway but nothing else.....
# ip -6 neigh
2001:41d0:2:9bff:ff:ff:ff:ff dev eth0 lladdr 00:05:73:a0:00:00 router REACHABLE
